Enhancing Elderly Quality of Life Through Service-Learning, Design Thinking, and Technology

UPB and its partners from the EELISA Egalitarian Societies Community will host an innovative event that combines service-learning, design thinking, and technology to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals. The event, which takes place on March 16th and 17th, aims to explore creative ways in which technology can be used to facilitate active participation of elderly people in society.

The event features presentations from renowned experts in the field of design thinking and technology, who will share their expertise with participants. Interactive sessions will be held, giving attendees the opportunity to share their own ideas and experiences. These sessions focus on exploring different aspects of technology, such as smart homes, wearable devices, and telemedicine, and how these technologies can be designed to better meet the needs of elderly people.

One of the key themes that the event is intended to put forward is the importance of taking a user-centred approach to the design of technology for elderly people. This service-learning approach involves placing the needs and preferences of the user at the forefront of the design process, and working to create technology that is intuitive, easy to use, and tailored to the individual’s specific needs.

The event is expected to be a valuable opportunity for participants to learn about the latest developments in the intersection of design thinking and technology for elderly people, and to share their own ideas and experiences. But perhaps the most important aspect of the event is the service-learning component. By putting the focus on the needs of elderly individuals and involving them in the design process, participants were able to gain valuable insights that will help them create technology solutions that are truly responsive to their needs.
